MISSION

Zonta International is a leading global organisation of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

ADVOCACY

Zonta International has engaged in advocacy at the international level through its international service projects  and its awards programs which promote the status of women.

At the local level, the Zonta London Club is a member of the UK NGO CSW Alliance, an alliance of ca 100 women organisation in the UK who work together with the UK Government through a core group to form strategy for and engage in the yearly sessions of the UN Commission on the status of women (CSW).

The CSW was established as a functional commission of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 1946 to prepare recommendations and reports to the Council on promoting women’s rights in political, economic, civil, social and educational fields.

INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL SERVICE PROGRAMS

Helping women in developing countries and at the local level has been a priority and a passion of Zontians  since the organisation was founded in 1919, and continues to be a priority.

LEADERSHIP AND STRUCTURE

Zonta International comprise more than 1,200 Zonta clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas worldwide. With more than 30,000 members, Zontians from all over the globe are fulfilling Zonta’s mission to advance the status of women worldwide. Zonta International is led by its International Board of Directors and Committee Chairs. It is further divided into 32 geographical Districts which in turn have Areas. Zonta London club belong to Area 3 of District 29.
