Spring Care Packing Day a big success, once again

1 June 2017

With the help of Kiwis in London and Elk Bar, Zonta Club of London II packed 102 individual clip-seal packages of toiletries, containing soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, hand lotion, deodorant and sanitary pads for Hestia refuges.

This bettered our last effort in November 2016 of 77 packages. Girls from Kiwis in London attended, as did a number of women from the Women’s March in London Facebook page, as well as the usual Zonta crew.

Sue Mansfield of our Club will distribute the packages to the relevant refuges in north and possibly west London.

Northwood College student Charlotte Beardwell in north London also organised a collection among the school girl students and brought it along. So it really was an all-of-London effort!

Thank you to all for doing this initiative with the Club, as it really does help a lot of women and girls in need.

This time, the Club even collected some men’s toiletries as well and made some men’s packs! Women in refuges may have teenage boys with them, and in that case, they will be well used.

We look forward to working with Kiwis and Elk again later in the year. More details when they are confirmed!
