Our Club
The Zonta Club of London is a member of Zonta International, a worldwide organization actively engaged in changing the lives of women and girls through service and advocacy. The club is actively engaged in local project and support local charities.
International Womens Day is celebrated with breakfast debates open to Zontians and guests. Between 25 November and 10 December we celebrate 16 Days of Activism to raise awareness and help eradicate violence against women and girls. Zonta International’s campaign Zonta Says No is a worldwide campaign to raise awareness of violence against women. The London club drew attention to the campaign in 2019 by lighting up Mable Arch orange at night and handing out yellow roses to passers-by.
The club is actively involved in the UK Civil Society CSW Alliance, working with Government Equalities Office in preparation for and during the UN Convention on the Status of Women (CSW), held in New York City for two weeks in March every year.
Zonta International has several awards and fellowships for women and girls in various stages of education and work, the club supports these and also provides a club award for Young Women in Public Affairs.
