Zonta Club of London is committed to collecting and using your personal information responsibly, securely and fairly. This privacy notice tells you what to expect when we collect personal information via our website or by other means.

Privacy Information

The personal data held by the Zonta Club of London on individual members, prospective members, donors and third-party supporters are used to provide information about activities of general interest or about a special event or to provide specific information directed to individual members, members of clubs, areas and districts of Zonta International.

The Information we Collect

The club only collect information relating to individuals connected to our Zonta club and its activities. The information is collected from various sources and it may relate to the membership of Zonta International or the donations to Zonta International Foundation.  Information may be collected about individuals when attending dinner meetings, fundraisers or social events arranged by the club or when interacting with the club through social media, applying for scholarships or contact us to inquire about membership, events or how to donate.

Some of this information will be collected directly in connection with membership applications. The Zonta Club of London only store personal information that members, donors or others have knowingly provided or that has been generated through participation in Zonta activities.

General user of websites

We do not collect personal information from users browsing our website. Users from the public browsing the websites do so anonymously. Aggregate data such as the number of visits per page may be recorded and stored but do not provide any personal-identifying information.

Member and donor

When applying for membership, applicants are asked to provide some limited information. This data is submitted voluntarily. The form requests the user to provide information including name, address, email address, profession, interests and other information pertinent to the membership of the club.

Nonmember

Individuals who from time to time receive information from us include awardees of the Zonta education programs, donors, dinner meeting guests, fundraising guests or other non-member supporters of the club. The information collected pertaining to these individuals include contact details such as name and address, email address, telephone number, social media contact details, any participation in a club event and any information contained in the Zonta International education program applications.

The club may exceptionally disclose personal information collected or provided as described in this statement to contractors, service providers and other third parties used to support the club business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and used only for the purposes for which the information is disclosed to them.

Lawful Bases for Processing

The lawful bases for the organizations to process data are one or more of the following:

Consent

The individual has given clear consent for the club to process personal data for specific purposes.

Contract

The processing is necessary for a contract or agreement between the club and the individual, or because specific steps are required before entering into a contract.

Legal obligation

The processing is necessary for the club to comply with the law obligations.

Legitimate interests

The processing is necessary for the club’s legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a reason to protect the individual’s personal data that overrides those legitimate interests.

Withdrawal of consent

Member

For a member to withdraw the consent for the organizations to store and use personal information is possible, but would present almost insurmountable barriers for membership, inasmuch as the Zonta International membership department, the Zonta Club of London, district 29 and area 3 of Zonta International would be unable to communicate with the individual member or members of the club.

Withdrawal of consent would deny the nonconsenting individual access to all information about the activities of the organizations. In order to avoid violating the withdrawal of consent, the club would be obliged to inform Zonta International, its districts, areas and clubs that the member data is no longer available to store, use or share.

Individual members or members of clubs may opt out of being visible to other members in the directory on the international website, by choosing that option on the member profile page on the international website.

A member can opt out of receiving direct communication such as email and mail from the club by informing the secretary of the club by email to contact@zontalondon.org.

Nonmember

A nonmember must consent in order to receive communications from the club and can withdraw such consent and opt out of receiving any further communications by sending an email to contact@zontalondon.org.
